Had I been privy to the grim truths of slaughterhouses and animal cruelty in my youth as I am now, I believe I may have embraced vegetarianism. My sculpture, "Cow on a Platter", represents the brutal treatment handed out to these kind and affectionate animals with whom we coexist. This piece expresses the inner turmoil I experience regarding the ethics of meat consumption.

Red clay was used for both the cow and the platter. Both were fired at 2232 degrees in an electric kiln. White slip and underglaze was used. Some aspects of the cow were painted using oils.
